James Boughton joined Edale in 1995 as a graduate engineer after earning a degree in Engineering with Business Studies and French. His early years at Edale were spent in manufacturing and operations, building a deep understanding of the company’s technology and processes.
In 2004, James became Managing Director, spearheading Edale’s growth and innovation. Under his leadership, Edale embarked on its digital journey through a groundbreaking OEM collaboration with AGFA Graphics, followed by partnerships with industry giants such as Fujifilm, AB Graphic, FFEI, and Canon. His strategic vision transformed Edale from a niche packaging machinery supplier into a globally recognised brand.
In 2022, James led the team responsible for Edale’s successful acquisition by Canon Production Printing, marking a new chapter in the company’s evolution. His expertise and leadership continue to drive Edale’s innovation in the print and packaging industry.
In 2025, James commenced his current role, working for Canon Production Printing. In this capacity, he is responsible for integrating Edale into Canon’s global sales and service network, enabling Edale to reach a broader audience, supported by Canon’s extensive resources and expertise.
