The Linerless labelling process – utilizing a label construction consisting of only three layers: paper, silicone and adhesive – has gained popularity thanks to its cost-efficiency and sustainability. Jujo Thermal decided to critically assess the factors influencing the Linerless labelling performance, resulting in a re-designed product concept for Direct Thermal Linerless label applications. And offering a wealth of advantages. Our innovative concept ensures trouble-free silicone and adhesive coating, consistent label dispensing, and superior thermal print imaging.
At Labelexpo, Jujo Thermal will showcase the re-engineered Linerless concept, putting the spotlight on two products, JujoL-KMLZS-75 and JujoL-KMLZB-80. Product demonstrations are carried out at Jujo’s stand with linerless printers.
JujoL-KMLZS-75, a non-topcoated grade designed for retail label applications, boasts exceptional silicone holdout and coverage. It is a reliable and cost-efficient choice, characterized by low silicone demand and the absence of a top-coating layer. Additionally, it is produced without phenols, reinforcing its environmentally conscious profile.
In response to the ever-increasing nterest in barrier reverse-side treated thermal linerless products, Jujo has developed the JujoL-KMLZB-80 product. The barrier reverse-side coated product enables the converter to control the adhesive migration, for example, when using water-based adhesives, and hence to optimize productivity and quality.
“We collaborate closely with our customers to develop tailored linerless solutions that precisely match their requirements, whether it is for quick-service restaurants or returnable product labelling. Our product offerings span a wide range of grammage (50-100) and encompass various features, enabling us to meet specific product design criteria. Our commitment to innovation fuels our ability to address the evolving demands of linerless solutions," describes Mika Anttila, R&D Director.
Jujo Thermal exhibits at Labelexpo on 11-14.9.2023 on stand 6 A 13 and showcases all its three specialty papers categories: thermal and C1S papers for label, ticket and POS applications, and packaging paper SHIELDPLUS designed for flexible packaging.
