What safety measures will be in place at Labelexpo Europe 2022?

  • Brussels Expo has invested in a world-leading air filtration and recirculation system which means the quality of air inside the hall is the same as the air quality outside, a key factor in stopping the transmission of COVID-19. The UVC lamps installed are very effective against pathogens, namely viruses and other diseases caused by bacteria. The lamps that Brussels Expo have installed are the same as those used to disinfectant hospital and surgical rooms, ambulances and public transportation
  • The wearing of a face covering is mandatory indoors
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be installed at all entrances and around site at regular intervals

Do I need to prove my Covid-19 status to enter the halls?

Since 15 October 2021, you must have a COVID Safe Ticket (CST) in Belgium to be able to visit certain places or events.

The COVID Safe Ticket (CST) is proof of full vaccination, of a recent negative PCR test or of a recovery certificate.

At this moment in time you will need a CST to enter Brussels Expo.

You can get a CST if you have one of the following three documents:
  • A vaccination certificate showing that you have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognized by the European Union. A vaccination certificate is only valid from the 14th day after the last injection.

Vaccines recognized by the European Union are as follows:

  • Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNTech)
  • Spikevax (Moderna)
  • Nuvaxovid (Novavax)
  • Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca)
  • Covid-19 vaccine Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
  • Covishield
  • A valid negative COVID test, either by:
  • A test certificate as proof of a negative PCR test (not older than 48 hours)
  • A test certificate as proof of an antigen test (rapid test, not older than 24 hours). Please note, antigen testing must be performed by a legally authorized person.  Self-testing is not sufficient and will not lead to a certificate
  • A valid proof of recovery not older than 180 days.
Once the security team are satisfied that you have successfully passed the health check you will be issued with a wrist band for access to the halls.

How can visitors from outside the EU get a COVID Safe Ticket (CST)?

  • Non-Europeans who have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognized in Belgium:
  • The official national vaccination certificates of the following countries/regions can be used: Iceland, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Scotland, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City, Wales, Albania, Andorra, Faroe Islands, Israel, Morocco, Monaco, North Macedonia, Panama, Turkey, Ukraine.
  • For residents who have been vaccinated outside the European Union, there are several options depending on the personal situation:
  • Residents of the European Union should, if possible, use the official European vaccination certificate issued by their country of residence.
  • Residents of other countries can fill out a Belgian CST for Foreigners form. Vaccination certificates obtained in this way can only be used as a Covid Safe Ticket in Belgium. They cannot be used to travel to another country. They are only available in the CovidSafeBE app . They are valid for 31 days, after which they can be renewed using the same procedure. An official national vaccination certificate in English and passport are required.
  • Non-Europeans who have not been (fully) vaccinated with a vaccine that is recognized in Belgium:
  • Those persons can obtain an official test certificate by undergoing on-site testing. These official test certificates can be used as CST in Belgium up to 48 hours (in the case of a PCR test) or 24 hours (in the case of a rapid antigen test performed and registered by a healthcare provider) after the test date. You can obtain a code for a PCR test via myhealth.belgium.be. You can request a code for a rapid antigen test from pharmacies that carry out rapid antigen tests (RAT).

The official test certificates will then be available via myhealth.belgium.be (Test Result and Certificate via CTPC code) or via the CovidSafeBE app when entering the personal test code. You can also use the official test certificates to travel within Europe, depending on the destination. Official European test certificates from other EU countries can also be used as CST under the same conditions (validity 24 or 48 hours after the test date).

The official European recovery certificates can also be used as CST between 10 and 180 days after the test date.
