Filip Weymans, Xeikon said:  “We moved from hall 5, prime spot between Gallus, Rotoflex and Fasson to Hall 9, new and just one main entrance and for the past years were had around 400-450 visitors. Well this year, scanned visitors have increased by more then 30%!!! Wednesday, the first day, was just too much for us to handle (booth too small, not enough staff). And on Saturday, normally tourist day, we landed 3 additional orders. I don’t need to say more, it has been a fantastic show. It always has been and will be. You’ve got a great team with whom it is a pleasure to work with, really all of them. So express them my sincere thanks for making it a great show.”

Jakob Landberg, Nilpeter said: “It was extremely positive to see so many from our industry in so short time - and most came with a positive feeling and live projects involving investments. I think most have been very conservative since the last show in Brussels - and now they have a desire to future progress. We got more orders than we had dreamt of - and a lot of work to do with the projects picked up at Labelexpo Europe 2009.”

Richard de Boissezon, Hewlett-Packard said: “Labelexpo Europe 2009 was well organized and superbly executed. It’s also fortunate to serve an industry that has grown at least 4% per annum for the last 30 years. For Hewlett-Packard, we exceeded our targets and are extremely pleased with the return on investment. The Digital Label Experience proved to be a success. The educational component adds value to the overall trade show experience.”

Stuart Rider, LARTEC said:  “LARTEC would like to thank all of its visitors for making Labelexpo Europe 2009 the most successful yet. LARTEC has signed several contracts for the distribution of its products in various new countries, as well as signing agreements to supply flexible dies to some of the world’s leading label manufacturers. OMET is now the world leader of technology, as it’s clear to all visitors that all the other manufacturers try to imitate our innovative solutions; but OMET is one step up with original proposals and the highest quality.”

Costanza Cerutti, Cerutti said: “Cerutti at Labelexpo Europe had an extremely positive result. Great satisfaction for Cerutti at the end of its first attendance at the show: the brand-new R990 unit - dedicated to the short run market and specifically designed to satisfy the needs of customers requiring quick job change over and very high printing quality - has received a very encouraging feedback from the label printers community. The Grafotronic U-Line is developed together with the Swedish label printer Nordvalls securing  operator friendliness, performance  and maximized production yield. The complete range of Grafotronic slitter/rewinders from 250 to 530 mm web width including the brand new table top version TT 250 was on display together with mobile unwind and other accessories for increased production efficiency.  With the financial crises behind us it is interesting to see such a large demand from the south European and South American markets, especially from Italy and Spain. Craig Thomson, Martin Automatic Inc. said: “Given the present economic environment, we were hopeful but guarded in our expectations for the show. By the third day, we had closed orders for 5 machines in Europe and Asia; given valued support to our OEM partners; and furthered discussions on both existing and, notably, new projects. Converters are understanding more and more that automation will reduce their waste and enhance their profits."

Tony Bell, AB Graphic International Ltd said: “Set against the background of the economy and with a number of new products to launch, we were concerned that Labelexpo Europe would be poorly attended. The plethora of new products and services that we launched were extremely well received, proof if proof were needed that our customers and the narrow web label industry as a whole are definitely fighting hard in these difficult times. What was clear to us is that narrow and wide web converters were talking more about the financial benefits of quality control and how much they could improve production by having anilox measurement and inventory management as a standard part of their working process. It appears the as the quality of flexo and label printing continues to improve the converters globally are focusing on maintaining the quality by improved QC, and at the same time improving there bottom line by using quality assurance tools that will reduce down time and help keep the presses running more efficiently.
